“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Paul asked three times for the thorn to be removed. God’s answer wasn’t a fix. It was a reframe: My grace is sufficient, My power is made perfect in weakness. That’s rarely the answer we’re actually praying for when we ask God to remove something hard. We want the thorn gone. God sometimes leaves the thorn exactly where it is and changes what it means instead.
Strength, in this verse, isn’t the absence of weakness. It’s God’s power showing up specifically inside it, not despite it. That reorders how you look at whatever’s currently wearing you down — the exhaustion, the diagnosis, the situation you can’t fix by trying harder. It might not be an obstacle to God’s strength in your life. It might be exactly where that strength has chosen to show up most clearly.
